Cloud P2P Automation Blog

Easy. Powerful. Smart.

Many of you are familiar with the classic Aesop fable, The Tortoise and the Hare. The story is about a hare (rabbit) that makes fun of a tortoise for being slow-moving. The tortoise claims to reach his destination faster than the hare might think and challenges the hare to a race. The audacious hare gets almost to the finish line well ahead of the tortoise, and to further prove how ridiculous the tortoise was for thinking he could actually win, lays down to wait. He falls asleep and stays asleep as the tortoise, slowly and steadily, surpasses him and crosses the finish line. The moral of the story is, “The race is not always to the swift.”

We can draw a few parallels between this story and our own story of Yooz AP automation. Whether you are just beginning your journey towards automating your invoice and payment processing workflow, or in the final stages investigating solution providers, it can be overwhelming sifting through all of the information out there.

Some solution providers might appear like the hare in the fable—flashy, audacious, quick with big promises. Platforms might appear to have a lot of bells and whistles, with prices to match! Before going into the conversation, make sure you have established what finance and accounting pain points you are trying to solve and what business goals you would like to reach. Look for an AP automaton solution provider that will be a good fit, is customizable, and will scale as you grow. Tim Carter, CFO, Salsarita’s Fresh Mexican Grill, shares his learning, “Many of the providers we considered offered a 500-pound solution for our 10-pound problem. Yooz, seamlessly integrated with our Sage Intacct ERP, was the perfect fit for what we needed. And it will scale as we grow.”

In Part 2 of this blog series, we’ll find a few more positive qualities that Yooz shares with both the tortoise and the hare…and reveal the moral of our story.

In the meantime, get prepared for those critical conversations with potential AP automation solution providers and avoid potential pitfalls with our comprehensive checklist, available for download.
